School Lunches

Severn View Food Project

Here at Severn View Primary Academy we are incredibly fortunate to have the food in our school catered for by the Severn View Food Project.
Operating out of the school kitchen on site, the Severn View Food Project cooks all of our school dinners fresh each day.
  • Everything is prepared fresh each day.
  • Menus change each week depending on what is in season.
  • Some of the food comes from the School's own vegetables which are grown by the children.
  • We work closely in partnership with the National Star college and help to train young adults working in our kitchen.
  • Using food donated by the Star Bistro we have an abundance of fresh seasonal produce to use.
  • All our meat and dairy comes from local farms and butchers who we know personally and whose farms we visit.
  • Any food waste that we produce is sent of to make electricity.
  • We hold a monthly Lunch Club where we invite older residents in the area to come and share lunch with our children.
  • Any food that we cannot use is distributed to the parents - this might be sprouts, it might be lettuce, it might be cake!
  • Severn View Food project also runs our award winning Breakfast Club.
  • Parents can come and join their children for lunch any day of the week.
